San Diego Conference Sponsorship Levels
A consortium of San Diego women’s organizations, in conjunction with the University San Diego (USD), is proud to announce the 6th Annual Expanding Your Horizons San Diego (EYH) conference that will take place at USD on April 12, 2008. EYH conferences, licensed and coordinated by the Math/Science Network, have been conducted for more than 500,000 girls nationwide since 1976. The primary goal is to increase the participation, retention, and advancement of girls and women in mathematics, science, engineering and technology.
The EYH conference will instill enthusiasm for science and technology and will show the participants that women have both the capability and the right to take an equal place in the science professions. Through hands-on activities and seminars, the conference will make these students aware of the wide variety of career opportunities in the science and technology fields, provide female role models, and highlight the importance of taking classes in these areas at the secondary school level.
Your contribution and support will ensure that San Diego’s young women have every opportunity to learn about and get excited about careers in math, science, engineering, and technology and make academic choices that will prepare them for these careers. Academically prepared women are more likely to have improved opportunities for pay and benefits, and San Diego businesses will, ultimately, reap the rewards of a more diverse science and technology workforce.
